This has become one of those quiet little rituals I actually look forward to. Bright, a little sharp, and it's become part of how I ease into the day rather than just rushing through it.
Starting the day with a simple citrus ginger blend is one of those quiet morning rituals I have come to love. Blending whole organic lemons, orange, and fresh ginger with water creates a bright, sharp drink that gently supports natural detox and digestion. Whether you drink it straight or stir a spoonful into warm water with a touch of honey, it is an easy, budget friendly way to help your body function at its best every single morning.
What do you need?
3 organic lemons
1 organic orange
Handful of ginger
Filtered water (I use this Clearly Filtered pitcher, it's become such an easy part of our routine at this point, I honestly don't think twice about it anymore)
How do you make it?
Wash everything thoroughly, then roughly chop the lemons, orange, and ginger.
Add to a blender with enough filtered water to cover the fruit.
Blend until smooth.
How do you use it?
There are two ways. Strained, you strain out the pulp and drink the juice on its own, then keep the leftover pulp in the fridge and stir a heaping tablespoon into a glass of warm water whenever you want a dose. Unstrained, you skip straining altogether and drink a small glass of the mixture as is, first thing in the morning.
Either way, a drizzle of honey before drinking makes it even better.
Bonus: these bitters can also support bile health, an area I've personally been working on lately.
Any tips before you start?
Using organic citrus matters here since you're blending the whole fruit, peel included. Store any extra in the fridge for a few days. Start with a small amount if you're new to bitters, the ginger and citrus combo can be strong.
If simple morning rituals that support digestion are your thing, I've also written about why I drink baking soda in water every day, another small habit that's made a real difference for me.
Thanks for being here, friends!
